Fleas are commonly found on cats but just because they are common does not mean that they are welcome. Flea bites can cause cats to develop itchy skin conditions and can even cause anaemia in kittens. It doesn't take much, however, to keep your cat flea free. Regular monthly application of a spot-on treatment will keep your cat and home flea free and happy. Ticks are also problematic. If your cat has ticks, then you will more than likely be able to spot them. They cling onto your cat's skin and suck the cat's blood into their bodies, making them swell. You can remove ticks from your cat's skin but be sure to remove the whole creature to avoid the risk of infection. Tick prevention is a much simpler solution. Wormers stock a variety of treatments to help your cat stay flea and tick free.
